Distance Education

Distance Education at the University of Ottawa

Distance education courses offered at the University of Ottawa are delivered in one of three ways, generally according to the program of study, and depending on resources available at the delivery site. Not all sites are equipped in the same way and not all courses are offered at every centre.

Learn your way

Audio and videoconferencing has become a part of our daily lives; indispensable to the development of communication, to the bridging of remote communities and to the instruction of the masses.

For several years now, this technology has allowed the University of Ottawa to:

  • Develop a presence throughout the surrounding communities (Cornwall, Hawkesbury and Pembroke)
  • Create links with partners in other provinces or around the world
  • Offer a variety of courses in a simple and interactive fashion, to students that may be separated by thousands of kilometres.

Distance education boasts several advantages. Discover more about the University of Ottawa’s distance education offerings!
